Job Posting Employer Outreach Officer 12 Month Term Position (possibility of renewal)
The Employer Outreach Officer is responsible for making a connection between newcomers and the local job market. In this sense, they must develop and implement activities aimed at supporting newcomers in their economic integration. Collaborate in settlement services promoting the integration of newcomers in the community and collaborate on immigration and cultural awareness. In addition, they must reach the agreed results and targets of the action plan adopted by the board of directors. . Specific tasks include but are not limited to:
Conduct Employer visits to promote the Restigouche Multicultural Association and its programs and services.
Develop and build partnerships with Employers in the region with the goal of increasing employment for newcomer immigrants.
Provide information and links with Employers to the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program
Support the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program project with respect to Needs Assessments, Settlement Plans and other supports as required.
Connect Newcomers with Potential Employers and provide necessary supports to assist the Immigrants with achieving employment.
Assist in the planning and execution of events
Deliver cultural information sessions
Track and report on progress
Promote the Restigouche Multicultural Association
Salary $18.00 to $20.00 per hour for $35 hours per week.
Requirements, Qualifications & Experience The successful incumbent must possess a genuine interest in the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program and have an interest in helping immigrants settle and integrate in Restigouche. We are seeking an individual with the following:
Cross Cultural sensitivity
Effective interpersonal communication skills
Public Relations/Community Outreach
Experience working with diverse cultures preferably in non-profit organizations
Post-Secondary Education in a related field or equivalent work experience
Knowledge and training in integration initiatives and settlement services
Practical knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of programs
Strong organizational and reporting writing skills
The Employee must be bilingual (English and French), with knowledge of additional languages considered an asset. Employee must have a valid driving license as well as a vehicle available to use for project purposes.
