Charlo Fall Fair 2017
On September 10th, the Restigouche Multicultural Association participated in the Charlo Fall Fair. Attendees enjoyed various entertainment and activities by members and entertainers from 3 different countries. There was a Cuban dance party, African braiding, dancing and singing and a performance by international students from Haiti. Luis De La Rosa, Jose Ricardo, Giselle Bueno Llanes, Honorine Ngountchoup, David Gbongbor and Jeudy Loudia were all involved in making this day happen. It was a great day had by all and we hope to return next year!
Greeting International Students September 2017
The Restigouche Multicultural Association greeted international students who will be studying at the Campbellton CCNB campus. RMA staff met and welcomed the students who are from various countries including Cameroon, Madagascar and Morocco.
Family Fun Day 2017
On August 23rd, our day started with all of the attendees meeting at Charlo beach at 12 p.m. then we made our way to Charlo Falls. Everyone had a wonderful time playing in the sand and the water. Around 5 p.m. a BBQ and corn boil took place and everyone enjoyed their supper which included corn, lobster, hamburgers, veggie burgers, smokies sausages and refreshments.
It was a great day for everyone who participated with the beautiful scenery and delicious food. Everyone was happy about interacting with multicultural people and all hope to meet again soon for another get together!!

Summer Bash Party 2017
On August 16th, the Restigouche Multicultural Association hosted an afternoon of family-friendly activities, including a corn boil & BBQ, dancing, gaming for children and adults and more !!!
The day started at 1 p.m. at our Executive Director's residence (Carol Perkison) where the children and adults enjoyed games, prizes snacks and refreshments. We had approximately 35 people from various countries including; Canada, India, Kuwait, Philippines, France and Haiti. At 5 p.m. the fun continued at Les Montagnards Outdoor Club located in Sugarloaf Park where approximately 50 people enjoyed a BBQ and corn boil as well as more games for the children.
There was also dancing with African, pop and modern music.
Another great day was had by all!!

Strawberry Picking 2017
On July 26th, The Restigouche Multicultural Association enjoyed a trip to Fermes Drapeau Inc. in Balmoral to pick strawberries. There were 35 people from 5 different countries (India, Philippines, Kuwait, Haiti and Canada) in attendance, including clients, their families and RMA staff. Children and adults alike had a great time in the nice weather picking and eating strawberries.
After the picking had concluded, one of the attendees was generous enough to invite the group to enjoy the rest of the day in his back yard with activities such as volleyball and horseshoe, as well as a trampoline for the children to enjoy. Everyone also had the chance to wet their feet in the river near the host’s yard. All of the attendees were very happy with the warm welcome they received and with the new friendships that were made. It was a very enjoyable day in the beautiful weather.

Multicultural Block Party 2017
Over 750 people from around the region gathered at the Campbellton Civic Center parking lot on June 30th to celebrate Multicultural Day in the warm, sunny weather. This celebration of Multicultural Day, hosted by the Restigouche Multicultural Association, encourages the participation of the whole community in events that celebrate and embrace the cultural diversity that is present in the region.
The afternoon activities for families, featuring multicultural and educational kiosks, started at 2 p.m. and continued until 4 p.m. These kiosks were hosted by volunteers originating from varying countries and presented a fantastic opportunity for the community to come out and learn about different cultures. Also present at the event were food vendors serving up Indian, Jamaican, African, Asian, Middle Eastern and other International Cuisine which began around 5 p.m. The attendees were very excited to have a taste of the different dishes from around the world.
Following the daytime event, the Block Party event began, free of charge. The attendees had the pleasure of listening to music presented by Danny Party, and the Lumber Jills. There was also an interactive Cuban dance performance by Luis Rizo La Rosa and a belly dancing performance by Serpentine Studios.

Canada Winter Fun Day 2017
The Restigouche Multicultural Association hosted the 2nd Annual Canada Winter Fun Day and Potluck at Les Montagnards Outdoor Club in Sugarloaf Park on Saturday, March 25th. Attendees enjoyed cross country skiing, snowshoeing and a wonderful International potluck meal. Thanks to the volunteers of Les Montagnards for making it such a success. See you next year!
India's Republic Day and Chinese New Year Celebration 2017
On January 27, the staff, the Board, members and clients of the Restigouche Multicultural Association celebrated India's Republic Day and Chinese New Year which was held at our office in Campbellton. We had a culturally diverse group of approximately 30 people, from 10 different countries including: India, China, Romania, Angola, Cameroon, USA, France, Vietnam, Turkey and Canada.
A generous and delicious meal was prepared by Mrs. Madhubala Sharda from India. Mr. Shri Vallabh Sharda spoke to the group on the importance of India's Republic Day. It is a celebration of the day India's constitution was put forth, January 26, 1950 and when India became an independant republic. This year was the 47th anniversary.
Dr. Wei Wang, who is from China and has been established in this region for many years, spoke to the group about the Chinese New Year, which will start January 28 and it is the year of the Rooster. It was a successful event and everyone enjoyed themselves. The staff the Board received many positive responses from the attendees.
