Tonight we went out a few hours before high tide, and the mixed group of locals and newcomers had a non-stop action night. Over 10 striped bass were caught within a few hours. Three within the regulation range of 50–65 cm were kept, and the others were safely released.

Today we fished for striped bass in the Restigouche River. We caught a few today, but they were all under the regulation size of 50–65 cm. Here is the FAQ about striped bass. Please remember to use barbless circle hooks to minimize damage on the fish. They are required by law for striped bass fishing. More about why here.

Today we went fishing with a few first-timers and an experienced fisher fishing for the first time in Canada. I did an information and orientation about the tackle and fishing season, then reviewed the regulations such as size requirements and catch amount limits for the region. Though we didn't catch anything, we had a great time.
