Black History Month 2017
The Restigouche Multicultural Association celebrated Black History Month 2017 in partnership with CCNB Campbellton. International students from across Africa presently studying at CCNB played a major role in the evening and contributed greatly to the success of sharing their cultures with over 90 attendees.
The guest speaker for the evening was Mr. Alfred Bessawa who spoke on the importance of Black people in Canada's history. Mr. Bessawa is originally from Camouroun, Africa and owner of an African clothing design business in Moncton.
A delicious authentic African feast was prepared by Ms. Kpli Madeline Wale Fatim who is also an International student at CCNB. The evening also included a fashion show featuring Mr. Bessawa's creations in addition to a number of informative and interesting pictorial presentations of African countries by students of CCNB. Ms. Christelle Tcheitcha sang a beautiful African song with an elegant voice.
The evening ended with an upbeat African dance performance by Ms. Henri-Dianne Bougouhi and Christelle Tcheitcha. Dozens of attendees joined the ladies on the dance floor following their performance which ended the evening on a very high note.
